The large number of toxic agents in the water might require an equally large number of specific sensors for each toxic. However, WOLA’s solution is to grow a specific indicator microorganisms – sensor microorganism – whose metabolism will be affected in a higher or lower range depending on the quantity of the total toxicity in the water.
Analysing the variation in the microorganism metabolism function charts, the AI can give us a first approach about the kind of toxicity existing in the water, whereas the MB-Politox will keep samples of the analysed water which toxicity levels exceed the prefixed limits.
