WOLA has developed technologies based on specifically selected microorganisms – used as sensors – to analyze biological parameters of water quality such as Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), toxicity and quantification of microorganisms, with applications in the process of water quality monitoring, water treatment and re – use, waste water treatment plants (WWTP) functioning, polluting industries, fish farming, aquaculture and hydroponic systems and environmental control in rivers, lakes, wetlands and beaches.

These technologies offer the possibility of analysing and monitoring several “target” substances, achieving a drastic reduction in analysis time and cost compared with current existing market techniques.

These analysis are performed / taken in an automated way, without the need of human intervention.
