Acknowledgement of concentration and metabolic activity of micro-sensors, used for determining the BOD in ten water samples from different origins. The blue bars indicate microbial concentration (homogeneous) used by the team BOD-MB in each of the determinations. The red bars indicate the concentration microbial (heterogeneous) of microorganisms present in the samples themselves are responsible for the final determination of BOD-5 in each case. The constancy of microorganisms in the team BOD-MB is one of the characteristics of our technology that makes it more reliable analytical determination of our teams compared to the findings obtained by the standard procedure BOD-5. |

Results of monitoring continuously obtained by our team BOD-MB of water
quality at Station Control of the Ministry of Environment Spanish in
the river Jarama (Madrid, 2000). For the first time in technological development in continuous international monitoring of water quality was possible in 2000, using one of our prototypes of BOD-MB determine automatically and for an extended period of more than 3 years this parameter in the water of the river Jarama. This allows identify episodes of pollution by BOD allowable levels according to Spanish law (50ppm). This could identify that during January 2000, on certain dates, uncontrolled discharges into the river Jarama, amounted to more than 250ppm values of the BOD. |

a Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP). The software also shows the data
of Respirometry allow the calculation of BOD in each sample and the
date and time at which each sample has been analysed and values of BOD.
This new technology allows: * Knowing the efficiency in water purification in every moment of laWWTP. * Knowing the values point and its evolution over a period of hours, days or months. * Feedback these values to optimize efficiency and reduce costs in the exploitation of the WWTP. * Ensure the responsible authorities to the efficient functioning of the WWTP at every moment. |
